Job summary

Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a QA Analyst to develop and enforce quality assurance standards for its project teams. The role emphasizes end-to-end testing, creating test cases, and ensuring delivery of quality software for in-house apps and COTS solutions.

You will analyze requirements, design test plans, execute tests, and mentor others in testing practices, including identifying opportunities for automation and supporting ITSM documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of quality assurance/automated testing experience, or three years as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer in the Colorado Judicial Department.
• Three years of relevant quality assurance/automated testing experience; or three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer within the Colorado Judicial Department. Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, translating requirements into test scenarios, and contributing to quality assurance measures across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
• Ensure testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
• Create test plans by translating business and functional requirements into test cases and execute those cases to verify compliance with requirements.
• Collaborate with software and systems personnel in application testing, such as system, regression and load testing; advise on automation candidates.
• Use appropriate testing tools to automate integration and user interface tests and analyze results to resolve defects and interoperability issues.
• Provide input to release decisions and share knowledge to improve customer service across ITS; participate in meetings and training as required.
