Maxim Healthcare, a trusted provider of in-home and community support services, seeks an Entry Level Psychology - Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) for paid training in Portland, ME. This part-time role offers afternoon/evening hours and an hourly wage of $25-28.

No previous experience required—just a high school diploma and a passion for helping others. Maxim provides all training and supports your certification journey, including Maine BHP certification within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• English proficiency required and CPR certificate held.

Responsibilities

• Support the health, wellness, and safety of the child.
• Encourage daily living skills, healthy habits, personal care, and independence.
• Help children build safe peer and adult relationships.
• Teach skills for self- and social-awareness and community integration.
• Maintain accurate and compliant progress and behavior documentation.
• Implement behavior support strategies per the treatment plan.
• Report suspected abuse or neglect promptly and appropriately.
• Use prompting, modeling, instruction, and reinforcement techniques.
• Provide transportation for appointments and community activities as needed.
• Encourage communication, decision-making, confidence, and access to needed services.

What You’ll Do

• Support the health, wellness, and safety of the child
• Encourage and assist with goals related to daily living skills (healthy habits, personal care, independence)
• Help children build safe and appropriate peer and adult relationships

What You Need
