Job summary

Builders FirstSource seeks a Production Scheduler to coordinate the flow of work within a multi-department environment. You will review schedules, set priorities, and adjust plans to meet orders and production targets while communicating downtime and progress to supervisors.

The role requires strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills, with attention to materials inventory and timely spare parts delivery. On-site position in California.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong planning and scheduling abilities to coordinate multi-department work flows.

Responsibilities

• Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
• Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
• Revises schedule according to work order specs, priorities, and availability of workers, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
• Reschedules identical processes to reduce duplicate machine setups.
• Distributes work orders to departments with unit counts, types, and proposed completion dates.
• Confer with supervisors to track progress and changes in processing methods from engineering/methods departments.
• Compiles reports on progress and downtime to inform production planning.
• Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
• Expedites production of spare parts and sets delivery dates for orders.
