Job summary

Builders FirstSource, the nation’s leading supplier of building materials and services, seeks a Production Scheduler to coordinate flow of work within our facility. You will review schedules, set priorities, and adjust plans to keep production moving smoothly.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multiple departments, maintaining inventories, and expediting parts to meet deadlines while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to review master production schedules and coordinate with departments to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
• Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
• Revises schedule according to work order specifications, priorities, and availability of workers, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
• Reschedules identical processes to minimize duplicate setups.
• Distributes work orders to departments with unit details and completion dates.
• Confers with supervisors to track progress and changes in processing methods.
• Compiles reports on progress and downtime to inform planning.
• Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
• Expedites production of spare parts and sets delivery dates.
