Job summary

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY brand, in Mason City, Iowa, is seeking a Product Engineer for a full-time, on-site role reporting to the Product Engineering Manager. The position emphasizes designing, developing, and improving products to meet customer needs and business goals while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), 0–3 years’ experience in sheet metal design, and strong CAD skills (SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 0-3 years of experience; sheet metal design preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings; CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate development of new products and improvements.
• Identify improvement ideas and participate in Value Engineering.
• Document changes and maintain design specifications.
• Develop drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Coordinate verification/testing and external certifications.
• Analyze specs and feasibility of customer requests.
• Lead sustainable material selection with Supply Chain guidance.
• Prepare specifications for purchased materials/components.
• Assist with product costing using material and labor costs.
• Support drafting, order processing, customer service and Manufacturing.
• Promote a safe and harmonious work environment.
• Ensure compliance with policies and the Code of Conduct.
