Job summary

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY brand, is hiring a Product Engineer for our Mason City, Iowa manufacturing facility. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Product Engineering Manager and focuses on designing, developing, and improving metal products to meet customer needs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply CAD tools (SolidWorks), assess feasibility, document specs, and support manufacturing processes while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering with Mechanical Engineering preferred; 0–3 years experience.
• Experience with sheet metal product design preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings; multitask effectively.
• Proficient with CAD applications; SolidWorks experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate development of new products and improvements.
• Identify cost reduction ideas and participate in value engineering activities.
• Document changes and maintain design specifications.
• Develop drawings of new or improved designs using CAD software.
• Coordinate product verification and testing for internal and external certifications.
• Analyze specifications and feasibility of custom requests.
• Lead material selection with Supply Chain guidance tools.
• Document specifications for purchased materials and components.
• Assist with costing of new products and provide engineering support to other teams.
• Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment; comply with policies.
