Job summary

IES Residential is seeking an entry-level Plumbing Helper to support installation, maintenance, and repair of residential plumbing systems in newly constructed buildings. You will work under licensed plumbers, gaining hands-on experience on active job sites in the San Antonio area.

This role emphasizes learning the trade, teamwork, and reliability. Training will cover rough-in and trim-out phases, safety practices, and adherence to codes while growing within the construction industry.

Qualifications

• Education: None. 0–2 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Willingness to learn the plumbing trade and work in a team environment.
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of plumbing or construction is a plus.
• Physically able to perform tasks such as bending, crawling, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to travel to various job sites across the San Antonio area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and appliances.
• Support both rough-in and trim-out phases of plumbing work.
• Follow blueprints, project specifications, and local building codes.
• Help with system testing and inspection to ensure compliance and functionality.
• Retrieve, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and workspaces.
• Take direction from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
• Report hazardous or unsafe working conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with other trades and construction teams on-site to ensure timely project completion.
• Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Learn industry best practices through on-the-job training and mentorship.
