Job summary

IES is seeking an entry-level Plumbing Installation Technician I to assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial and residential settings in San Antonio, TX. This role supports field operations while developing technical skills and knowledge of codes and safety practices.

You will work under supervision, read basic plans, handle plumbing components, keep tools organized, and contribute to efficient jobsite workflows.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and construction practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
• Support field personnel with jobsite preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and installation activities.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and work orders as assigned.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing piping and plumbing components under supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in safe and organized condition.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, plumbing codes, and operational standards.
• Support jobsite organization, material tracking, and overall operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate work orders, installation documentation, and jobsite records as required.
• Coordinate with field personnel, supervisors, vendors, and internal departments regarding jobsite needs and project updates.
• Provide professional customer interactions and maintain positive working relationships on jobsites.
• Participate in training and skill development activities to expand plumbing knowledge and field capabilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
