Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves developing and implementing individualized therapy plans for diverse populations, including adults and pediatrics.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and teamwork. A MA license and completion of the National PT Board Exam are required; a signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice physical therapy in the Commonwealth of MA.
• New graduates must obtain MA license within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of National Physical Therapy Board Examination.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapy evaluations and develops treatment plans for diverse patient populations (infants to elderly).
• Analyzes data to assess functional status and communicates with physicians regarding treatment options.
• Provides individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, ROM, neuromuscular education, and mobility training.
• Educates patients and families about therapy goals and progress; participates in discharge planning.
• Maintains documentation and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Oversees caseload and supervises therapy assistants to ensure quality of care.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient coverage and equitable workloads.
• Supports inventory management and department operations as needed.
