Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients across the continuum, including pediatric to geriatric populations. You will develop individualized therapy plans, document progress, and coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.

You will educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, and support quality improvement initiatives. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited PT program.
• Current license to practice physical therapy in Massachusetts; obtain MA license within 6 months.
• Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Board Examination.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapy evaluations and develops treatment plans for varied patient populations.
• Analyzes data and assesses functional ability; consults with physicians as needed.
• Provides individualized treatment including ROM, strengthening, and patient education.
• Educates patients and families; participates in discharge planning.
• Maintains medical records and assists with billing and departmental statistics.
• Delegates caseload to therapy assistants and ensures quality of care.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and program development.
• Supervises students according to Practice Standards.
