Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an entry-level Phlebotomy/EKG support role to perform blood collection and 12-lead ECGs for inpatients and select outpatients. You will work peripherally across departments, supporting patient care, safety, and data accuracy in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, patient identification, proper PPE usage, and timely communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Blood collection via phlebotomy for lab analysis. Ensure accurate patient identification and quality specimens.
• Acquire 12-lead EKGs with high quality tracing and timely data entry.
• Maintain department operations: restock carts, organize workflow, respond to pages and calls.
• Adhere to infection control policies and safety guidelines.
• Utilize Excellian and Rover for specimen collection and documentation.
• Address equipment issues via ServiceNow and coordinate with care team.
