Job summary

Queens Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks a dedicated team member to support patient care through phlebotomy, EKG, and basic clinical tasks. You will collect specimens, perform screenings, assist with examinations and maintain patient records with accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy and EKG training, and BLS certification. You will work under supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting and contribute to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Training including phlebotomy and electrocardiography (EKG) required.
• Current BLS certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Check vital signs, weigh and measure patients, and document findings.
• Instruct patients on specimen collection and perform basic screening tests.
• Perform venipuncture/fingerstick to obtain blood specimens.
• Record and report observations to clinical staff for assessment.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during examinations.
• Maintain patient charts and relevant forms in EMR systems.
• Escort patients to other departments and coordinate appointment scheduling.
