Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist and EKG Assistant to join the Phlebotomy Core Team at United Hospital. The role supports inpatient phlebotomy and 12-lead ECGs, with 0.8 FTE and 32 hours per two-week period, on evening/night shifts.

You will collect blood samples, perform 12-lead EKGs, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with the care team. The environment emphasizes teamwork, infection control, and reliable data entry.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education/experience aligned to job competencies.
• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy/BLS preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification on hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Blood collection for lab analysis.
• Acquisition of 12-lead EKGs for in-patients and select out-patients.
• Maintain clean work area and proper PPE usage.
• Accurate patient identification and data entry.
• Communicate with care team and document hand-offs.
