Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. in Rochester, MN is seeking a Production Inspector to perform routine visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection of PCBs and assemblies. You will work from detailed instructions, verify component placement and soldering, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year in electronics manufacturing. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work with minimal supervision are essential; overtime

Qualifications

• 1+ years of basic electronics manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and shift 4.

Responsibilities

• Works from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List and other relevant written instructions.
• Inspects for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings and other quality requirements.
• Obtains paperwork and drawings for each job and verifies effective date.
• Verifies placement, polarity and labels on circuit boards.
• Uses Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
• Performs minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.
• Performs minimal hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies.
• Completes routing tasks per procedure.
• Enters board/systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.
• Inputs data into PFS.
• Performs duties under close supervision.
• Checks configuration on all assemblies.
• Provides timely feedback to operations, management and support engineering.
• Follows process documentation and suggests improvements.
• Complies with company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
