Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore seeks Nursing Support staff to provide care, comfort and safety to patients under the supervision of a nurse. Roles include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vitals, and supporting admission, transfer and discharge tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of direct patient care experience preferred, CNA registration, CPR, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Current Maryland CNA (CNA I or CNA II) registration.
• CPR certification (Heart Saver) required.
• Ability to read and write English to provide patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Competent to safely handle medications.

Responsibilities

• Provides for care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.).
• Observes patients and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs routine vital signs, weights, glucose tests, and basic charting.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
