Job summary

GBMC is seeking a Nursing Support aide to assist registered or licensed practical nurses in delivering direct patient care under supervision. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and collaboration with unit leadership to enhance the patient experience.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of direct patient care experience, and current Maryland CNA I or II certification. Basic English literacy and accurate documentation are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNA I or CNA II registration with Maryland Board of Nursing.
• At least 6 months of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write English for patient care documentation.
• Basic math and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with direct patient care under supervision.
• Help with activities of daily living and room care.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, weights, and glucose.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Set up O2 therapy and basic wound care as directed.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and restock supplies.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transport.
• Use electronic medical records for charting.
