Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking an entry-level Patient Access Services Associate (PAR I) at the San Jose site to support admissions and registration tasks. You will help identify insurance coverage, collect payments, and ensure proper registration while delivering courteous service.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying information, handling routine inquiries, and escalating complex registrations to experienced teammates as needed. Training is provided to grow within the PAS team.

Qualifications

• Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of progressively responsible related work experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assures secure handling and accurate recording of payments collected at the point-of-service delivery.
• Builds a foundational understanding of health insurance coverage options and related processes.
• Greet patients and begin the registration process. Maintain professional communication with PAS staff, medical center staff, physicians, guests, and patients regarding admitting/registration services.
• Escalates advanced or complex registrations to a more experienced team member.
• Meets weekly productivity and KPI targets while following department priorities.
• Provides excellent customer service to all individuals encountered.
