Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking an Outside Operator to join our team at Harding Street Station. You will operate and monitor boiler-turbine units, gas turbines and their auxiliaries on a rotating shift, under direction of Control Room Operators.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, plus the ability to read P&ID diagrams and interpret operational documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with understanding of mechanics and industrial machines.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is required.
• Must pass EEi POSS test and Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
• Basic math and elementary chemistry understanding preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and other key operational documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler-turbine units, gas turbines and auxiliaries on rotating shifts.
• Place units in service or remove them from service under supervision.
• Read gauges, take readings, log operations and maintain logs.
