Job summary

AES Corporation in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Outside Operator on a rotating shift outside the central control room. You will operate boiler-turbine units and gas turbines, monitor auxiliaries, and ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

You must have a high school diploma or GED with mechanical and electrical aptitude, and be able to read P&IDs and basic electrical diagrams. Training to operate all generation assets is provided as part of progression.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude essential.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Operate boiler-turbine units, gas turbines and auxiliaries on roving shifts.
• Start turbines, bring units in and out of service, monitor operation.
• Record readings and maintain logs per SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and report issues via SAP notifications.
