Job summary

AES Indiana is seeking an Outside Operator for a rotating shift at Harding Street Station. You will operate boiler-turbine units and gas turbines, place units in service or remove them, and perform routine checks to ensure reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with understanding of mechanics and industrial machines.
• Demonstrate high mechanical and electrical aptitude and pass EEi POSS and PAT.
• Reading and interpreting P&ID's and one-line electrical diagrams helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate boiler-turbine units and gas turbines per CRO instructions.
• Place units in service or remove from service while inspecting operations.
• Operate plant equipment per guidelines to maximize reliability.
• Troubleshoot system problems and enter SAP work requests.
• Start turbines and bring units to speed and service.
• Maintain logs and readings and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Collaborate with maintenance and technical staff for safety.
• Fill daily shift vacancies as needed and coordinate with work group leaders.
