TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking entry-level skilled craft assistants to support installation and fabrication activities on construction sites. The role involves using hand and power tools, measuring, cutting, assembling and aligning machinery under supervision.

You will help with inventory review, foundation preparation, leveling, rigging, crane coordination, and test/adjust installed equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; related field experience may apply.
Must possess knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with supervision.
Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

Learn to use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and align machinery and install items.
Review and verify inventory of equipment/machine components; prepare foundations and elevations; set centerlines and bench marks; mix and place grout where required.
Assist skilled craftsman with torque, rigging and crane guidance; test and adjust installed machinery.
Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars; move equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
Assist with assembly and installation of equipment; align machines using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares and measuring tools; attach to foundations.
