Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an entry-level craftsperson to assist skilled workers on industrial piping projects under close supervision. You will learn to read isometric drawings, take measurements, and help fabricate and install piping components.

The role involves aligning and bolting parts, handling rigging, operating basic tools, and supporting hydro testing per job specs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; field experience preferred.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with supervision.
Basic knowledge/ability with hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

Learn to read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping.
Assist skilled craftsman to align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
Assist with assembly and securing of pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment per welding and threading specs.
Position and secure materials during installation per plans and specs.
Learn to distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
Learn to handle and apply rigging equipment.
Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, Saw-Zall.
Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
Assist with hydro testing piping systems.
