Job summary

SECU, State Employees' Credit Union, is seeking an entry-level Associate Member Services Officer to learn branch operations and deliver exemplary member service. The role covers in-person, phone, and digital interactions, with initial exposure to cash handling, account maintenance, and notary services.

Successful candidates will begin training in lending and collections, while adhering to policy and security standards, and will participate in ongoing training to grow within SECU’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher education preferred (NC-CTP options).
• SECU Core Values demonstrated in daily work.
• Aptitude for meeting people and building member confidence, respect, and trust.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Complete Core Module Program within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member inquiries by telephone and in person with exemplary service.
• Perform routine branch duties and follow standard procedures.
• Handle cash box management, account origination and maintenance.
• Learn lending and collections concepts at the Associate MSO level.
• Assist with notary services, wire transfers, and currency handling as needed.
• Organize, file and scan documents; maintain accurate records.
• Balance cash drawer and adhere to security, privacy and policy standards.
