Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Coder I for RMF Revenue Cycle in Edinburg, TX. The role analyzes patient records, assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT, and APC codes, and conducts audits to ensure billing compliance and accuracy.

You will interact with physicians, support denials review, and maintain productivity and confidentiality in a fast-paced hospital setting. A high school diploma is required; RHIT or coding certification is preferred, with English proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• RHIT or Medical Coding certification program strongly preferred.
• 3 years hospital experience preferred.
• Billing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required.
• Office coding experience is required.
• Organizational skills are necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Hospital or clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes patient medical records to ensure documentation conforms to regulations.
• Assigns specified codes to medical diagnoses and/or clinical procedures (ICD-10-CM, CPT, APC).
• Audits charts for compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
• Provides second level review of codes assigned to medical diagnoses and procedures.
• Interacts with physicians and other providers regarding billing and documentation policies.
• Meets quality and productivity standards and supports denials review and appeal processes.
