Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accounts for coding and abstracting patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information.
• Extracts relevant information from patient records and liaises with providers to clarify information.
• Examines documents and electronic health records for missing information and corrects as needed.
• Assigns CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes and DRG codes for reimbursement and compliance.
• Audits documentation to validate coding supports services rendered for billing and reporting purposes.
• Maintains current knowledge of coding guidelines and participates in provider coding reviews as requested.
