Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Solutions offices in Baltimore, Fairfax, Richmond, Boston, and California. The role supports HVAC design, energy calculations, and commissioning across performance contracting projects.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0–3 years of related experience, with opportunities to grow into an energy engineer within CMTA through varied project work and client interaction.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm is preferred.
  • Industrial HVAC design background or commissioning experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present project opportunities to potential clients.
  • Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
  • Perform site visits, audits, and energy calculations for projects.
  • Review drawings and specifications for engineering quality.
  • Assist in the bidding process to ensure competitive outcomes.
  • Support contract administration and coordination with construction teams.
  • Collaborate with M&V to develop reports.
