Job summary

WSP in Fort Mill, SC is seeking an Early Career Mechanical or Civil Engineer to gain hands-on experience in our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department. You will contribute to transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades and fiber optic additions while learning from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with anticipated graduation Dec 2026.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and strong desire to learn.
• Effective communication and ability to convey ideas to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
