Job summary

WSP's Mount Laurel, New Jersey office is seeking an Early Career Transmission Line Engineer to contribute to design and analysis of overhead lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, using PLS-CADD and field data.

This hybrid role requires a civil engineering degree, up to 1 year of experience, strong English communication, and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed; relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
0–1 year of post-education experience.
Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher.
Strong English communication, written and oral.
Knowledge of design/build processes.
Familiarity with civil construction laws and regulations.
Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Detail-oriented, self-led, multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently or in a team.
Proficient with office software and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to travel as required.
Must adhere to Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

Execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
Support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan.
Maintaining a project budget and schedule.
Facilitate and adhere to WSP’s QA/QC procedures.
Develop transmission line design expertise: PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, structure loading, procurement, and construction support.
Travel to field, as needed.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and conduct, adhering to WSP’s policies.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
