Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA, LLC in Huger, SC is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and support on-site maintenance at customer locations. You will read instruments, troubleshoot, and replace defective parts while adhering to safety standards.

Preference given to candidates with industrial/mechanical maintenance experience; pre-employment physical and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by performing preventive maintenance on production machines according to diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
• Locates sources of problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Removes defective parts and assists with repairs.
• Adjusts equipment by inspecting parts and using calipers and micrometers.
• Controls downtime through preventive maintenance and efficient resource use.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and supports team goals.
