Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA, LLC is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic at our Decatur, AL facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on production machines, diagnosing issues, and performing parts replacement using hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Work involves reading measuring instruments and maintaining safe, efficient operations on site.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on production machines.
• Locate sources of problems by observing devices and using measuring instruments.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices with hand and power tools.
• Adjust equipment by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and other instruments.
• Control downtime through preventive maintenance techniques.
• Conserve resources by efficient use of equipment and materials.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Contribute to team efforts to achieve related results.
