Primetals Technologies USA, LLC in Huger, SC is seeking a 1st shift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on maintaining production machinery and supporting on-site service at customer sites.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to read and interpret measuring instruments; preferred candidates have prior industrial maintenance experience and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver license and ability to read/interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates have prior industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.
• Opportunities to contribute to preventive maintenance and on-site service at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance per diagrams, manuals and specifications; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Locates problems by observing equipment in operation and using precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices and using hoists, cranes and hand/power tools.
• Determines dimensional changes by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and related tools.
• Controls downtime by following preventive maintenance routines and adjusting as needed.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Contributes to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
