Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Civil Engineer with diving and inspection expertise to support inspection and design of marine structures and bridges in the Baltimore area. You will conduct site investigations, prepare reports, analyze deterioration, and develop cost estimates.

The role requires an Engineer in Training (EIT), a Certified Commercial Diver, and readiness to travel locally. Strong technical writing and collaboration across disciplines are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) is required.
• Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or US military equivalent diving school preferred
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain TWIC is required
• DBIDS card or eligibility to obtain and pass background checks preferred
• Availability and willingness to travel as required
• Most work is local/regional with regular returns home
• Post-offer/pre-employment drug screening and background checks required
• Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment contingent upon legal ability to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Performs site investigations of marine structures, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
• Ensures scope of work is fulfilled and deliverables are submitted on schedule and within budget.
• Data entry/manipulation and technical writing for inspection reports and proposals.
• Analyzes deteriorated components to assess load capacity.
• Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborates with inspection team and other engineering disciplines.
• Assists with civil and structural design.
• Performs other duties as required.
