Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer with commercial diving certification to join the NYC dive team. The role includes leading underwater and above-water inspections, report preparation, and design tasks for clients in the NY area with occasional travel.

Qualified candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, EIT, and a commercial diving credential. Training programs in commercial diving and rope access are offered with opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required.
Certified Commercial Diver certification is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or US military equivalent diving school accepted.

Responsibilities

Performs site investigations of marine structures, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
Ensures that the scope of work is fulfilled as directed and that the contracted deliverable is submitted on schedule and within budget.
Data entry/manipulation and technical writing skills for the preparation and review of inspection reports, proposals, etc.
Analyzes deteriorated components of marine and bridge structures to assess load capacity.
Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates and supporting documentation.
Provides quality assurance reviews of inspection reports.
Works collaboratively with all members of the inspection team and of other engineering disciplines.
Assists with civil and structural design.
