Job summary

COWI is seeking a Marine Engineer Diver in New York to join our hybrid team. You will collaborate with project leadership to plan and execute above-water and underwater inspections, utilizing surface‑supplied air diving gear and vessels.

This role requires coordination across structural, geotechnical, and coastal disciplines and offers travel opportunities both domestically and internationally. The candidate should have a relevant degree, EIT/PE status, ADCI dive certification, and 3–6 years of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/structural/geotechnical/ocean engineering from a four‑year university.
• E.I.T. registration or ability to obtain within 6 months; PE preferred.
• ADCI or equivalent dive certification and current First Aid/CPR/AED/O/BBP.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Pass ADCI dive physical; lift/carry equipment.
• OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety (preferred).
• ADCI Dive Supervisors Certification and TWIC (preferred).
• 3–6 years of underwater inspection experience using surface‑supplied air diving equipment; travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Director and dive team to perform engineering tasks and safe diving practices.
• Plan and develop deliverables for above-water and underwater marine inspections.
• Operate and help maintain surface‑supplied air diving equipment and vessels.
• Communicate with colleagues and clients in writing and verbally.
• Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, coastal, CAD teams to develop inspection reports and designs.
• Oversee construction administration activities.
