Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer with commercial diving certification to join the Baltimore dive team. You will perform above and below water inspections of marine structures, contribute to reports, and develop repair designs, with field work and occasional travel.

You will use field tablets, drones, NDT, marine mapping, and modelling tools as part of a professional inspection group serving ports, terminals, and government clients, with training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; structural coursework preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) required.
• Certified Commercial Diver required (ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or US military equivalent).
• Entry level to 4+ years of diving and inspection experience.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• TWIC or eligible to obtain; DBIDS preferred.
• Willingness to travel locally/regionally with occasional overnights.
• Post-offer pre-employment drug screening and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Performs site investigations of marine structures, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
• Ensures scope of work is fulfilled and deliverables are on schedule and budget.
• Data entry/manipulation and technical writing for inspection reports and proposals.
• Analyzes deteriorated components to assess load capacity.
• Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates and supporting documentation.
• Works collaboratively with inspection team and other engineering disciplines.
• Assists with civil and structural design.
• Performs other duties as required.
