Job summary

Wonderful Citrus is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic based in Delano, CA. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment, help with setup and minor repairs, and learn on the job within the Maintenance Mechanic Team.

You’ll work with Baggers, Printers, CSMA, Weighers, and Box Formers, growing technical skills and collaborating with operators to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical degree and three years or more of related experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
• Stand and/or walk for up to 12 hour shift; ability to climb ladders or scaffolding to heights; balance and work above shoulders; lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 75 pounds; wear PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, and safety harnesses.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write reports, procedures, and communicate with managers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on Baggers, Printers, CSMA s, Weighers, Tomra Sorting Equipment and Box Formers.
• Creates work requests and work orders in CMMS and documents work performed.
• Escalates technical, procedural, and personnel issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary.
• Assists packaging operators and specialists with repairs and improvements to equipment.
• Responds to bin jams in area of responsibility.
• Performs minor rebuilds such as replacement of bearings, shafts, and sprockets.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Technical degree and 3+ years related experience
