Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I in South Carolina to perform machine setup, troubleshoot, and carry out preventive maintenance on production equipment. You will assist with repairs, inventory management, and keeping facilities safe and orderly.

You will work under supervision, develop skills in mechanical and electrical systems, and support production through reliable maintenance practices, with flexible hours and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 – 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts and replaces them using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Maintains inventory by checking stock and expediting orders for parts and supplies.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
