Job summary

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, WI is hiring entry-level cooks to support daily kitchen operations. Responsibilities include washing, peeling, cutting, measuring ingredients, preparing salads and cold foods, and fry/batch cooking.

You will assemble and present finished dishes, and maintain a clean, safe work area. The role requires ability to work irregular hours, including late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays, with opportunities to advance through ServSafe certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3 to 6 months of related cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days.
• Ability to complete Culinary Academy within 12 months.
• Maintain discretion with confidential information.
• Able to interact with guests and team members professionally.
• Ability to work irregular hours including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate food preparation and cooking duties (washing, peeling, cutting, measuring ingredients, salads, cold foods, fry, stock, batch cooking).
• Assemble, garnish, and finalize presentation of dishes.
• Use and clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils SAFELY (ovens, grills, fryers, knives, processors).
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, organized work environment; work closely with Stewards.
• Assist in storing and rotating inventories.
• Learn to perform more advanced kitchen duties and assist culinary team.
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed.
• Work at other kitchens/venues as assigned based on business needs.
• Comply with departmental policies and regulations.
