Job summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in Nashua, NH. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and systems, with a Monday–Friday work week and periodic overtime.

We provide on‑the‑job training, opportunities for growth, and a culture focused on teamwork. Applicants should be at least 18 with a valid driver’s license and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
Experience repairing industrial processing equipment in production environment is preferred (6 months).
Must read blueprints and schematics; ability to read maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using measurement and testing instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre‑treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs.
Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
Inspect and lubricate motors, belts, fluids, shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
