Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry level Heavy Equipment Operator to contribute to the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems at various locations. Travel to different sites may be required to meet customer demands.

The role requires hands-on work with energized and de-energized systems, physical exertion, and strict adherence to safety procedures. Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform strenuous outdoor work.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire and set poles/anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, crossarms, insulators and switches.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
