Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking an entry-level trainee to support the sub-recipient grants process in the Bureau. You will learn to formulate plans for timely grant submissions and assist in developing BBH budgets and line-item budgets in line with federal, state, and department guidelines.

You will monitor grants, process change orders, handle invoices, and prepare weekly status reports. Strong communication, math, accounting knowledge, and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
  • Certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to formulate plans for the grants process to ensure timely submission of grants.
  • Assist in developing BBH target funding budgets and detailed line-item budgets according to federal, state, and department guidelines.
  • Monitor grants, process change orders, and ensure invoices are received and processed.
  • Provide weekly status reports for all grants and change orders in the process.
  • Aide in expenditure research and analysis to recommend budgets and program provisions.
  • Assist in developing budgets for federal grants and review information for financial status reports.
