WV Department of Human Services seeks an entry-level grants analyst in a training capacity to support sub-recipient grants. You will learn to formulate plans for timely submissions and coordinate with Bureau units to develop BBH budgets and budget line items according to guidelines.
Role includes monitoring grants, processing change orders, managing invoices, seeking extensions, and closeout forms, plus weekly status reports and expenditure research for federal grants.
This is an entry level position, working in a training capacity in the sub-recipient grants process. Employee will learn to formulate plans for the process to ensure timely submission of grants and will be responsible for requesting appropriate assistance from various unit and sources within the Bureau. Employee will provide assistance to the grantee in the development of BBH target funding budgets and detailed line-item budgets according to federal, state, and department guidelines. Employee will learn to monitor grants, process change orders, ensure all invoices are received and processed, request appropriate extensions and process forms for closeout of grants. Employee will provide weekly status reports for all grants and change orders in the process. Employee will learn to conduct expenditure research and analysis to accurately recommend budget and program reward provisions. Employee will aid in the development of budgets for federal grants, provide assistance in processing federal grant applications and carryover request calculations, and review for information for financial status reports. Position requires excellent communication skills, mathematical and accounting knowledge, ability to prepare correct and timely budgets and reports and requires extensive knowledge of Microsoft products. Other related duties as assigned.
