Job summary

IGL Logistics Inc. is looking for an Entry-Level International Operations Agent to support air and ocean shipments with a focus on accuracy, timely communication, and customer service.

Training is provided, with opportunities to grow into more advanced roles within international logistics. The position emphasizes coordinating with customers, carriers, and overseas partners, maintaining records, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No previous logistics or freight-forwarding experience required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination of international air and ocean import and export shipments.
• Communicate shipment instructions and status updates to customers, carriers, overseas agents, and service providers.
• Request and review freight rates, schedules, space availability, and routing options.
• Assist with booking cargo with airlines, steamship lines, trucking companies, and other transportation providers.
• Prepare, review, and organize shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, and delivery orders.
• Enter and maintain shipment information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Track shipments from origin through final delivery and provide timely updates.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to support timely customs clearance.
• Verify shipment details such as addresses, weights, dimensions, and transport instructions.
• Follow procedures and regulatory requirements; maintain organized electronic shipment files.
