Job summary

RECONN Utility Services is hiring a gas leak surveyor to join our field team. This entry-level, daytime/full-time role offers $19–$21 per hour based on experience, with paid training and advancement opportunities.

The job involves surveying gas lines, investigating and documenting leaks, and maintaining pipeline integrity in outdoor environments. Applicants must be able to work outdoors, pass a drug screen, have a valid driver’s license, and be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying terrains; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

A gas leak surveyor provides an important service to utilities and the public. Leak survey technicians use a variety of equipment to survey gas lines ensuring pipeline integrity. When a leak is detected, it is investigated, classified, and documented. Basic skills needed are computer skills, map reading, routing, and problem solving. These are entry-level, daytime/full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends.
