Job summary

The City of Eugene is hiring a Fleet Service Worker to perform routine preventative maintenance and general repair on City-owned vehicles including EVs and hybrids. The role involves tire service, diagnostics, and basic electrical work, with supervision from senior staff.

You will work at the Public Works, Maintenance division on a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with a focus on safety and quality in a collaborative shop environment. Benefits are robust and competitive.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in preventative maintenance or repair of automotive, medium/heavy-duty, hybrid, or electric vehicles and equipment.
• Two years of specialized training in automotive and/or heavy equipment repair from an accredited trade school or college.
• ASE certification within 12 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews service requests and updates maintenance records.
• Performs tire service on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Inspects brakes, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and EV components.
• Assists with inventory and shop facility upkeep.
