Job summary

EVGIDE, INC is seeking a Fleet Operations Technician in Riverside, CA to keep vehicles, charging equipment, and related gear ready for members. You will perform inspections, basic maintenance, and document results while following approved procedures.

You will diagnose simple mechanical and electrical issues, move cars between sites, record data, monitor charging, and support launches. A valid driver's license and comfort with mobile apps and documentation are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in automotive, EV, fleet, field service, equipment maintenance, micromobility, or a comparable hands-on environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and low-voltage electrical troubleshooting and safe tool use.
• Ability to follow checklists, service information, escalation rules, and documentation standards consistently.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for assigned vehicle duties.

Job description

EVGIDE is building integrated electric mobility, charging, and energy infrastructure. Our community-based, return-to-base electric carshare model is designed to make shared electric transportation practical for campuses and communities. We are an early-stage team in Riverside, California, turning pilot evidence into reliable operations and a scalable growth model.

About the role

The Fleet Operations Technician keeps EVGIDE vehicles and supporting equipment safe, clean, charged, documented, and ready for members. This field-forward role combines inspections, preventive maintenance, basic mechanical and electrical diagnostics, vehicle movement, inventory control, and clear escalation.

What you will do

• Complete daily and scheduled vehicle inspections, readiness checks, cleaning, charging, and light preventive maintenance using approved procedures.
• Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, charging, telematics, and accessory issues; complete authorized repairs and elevate work outside your training or authority.
• Move vehicles among approved operating, charging, service, and storage locations while following key-control and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Record work orders, defects, parts, photos, meter readings, and return-to-service decisions accurately.
• Monitor charging status and equipment condition while following approved high-voltage and lithium-ion battery safety boundaries.
• Maintain tools, spare parts, safety equipment, and an organized work area; support vendor and warranty coordination.
• Respond to field incidents and member-reported vehicle issues within assigned coverage windows.
• Identify recurring failures, readiness bottlenecks, and process improvements using operational data.
• Support vehicle launches, site setup, and periodic weekend or after-hours coverage as scheduled.

What you bring

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in automotive, EV, fleet, field service, equipment maintenance, micromobility, or a comparable hands-on environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and low-voltage electrical troubleshooting and safe tool use.
• Ability to follow checklists, service information, escalation rules, and documentation standards consistently.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for assigned vehicle duties.
• Comfort using mobile apps, work-order or ticketing tools, spreadsheets, and photo documentation.
• Ability to work outdoors, stand or bend for extended periods, and safely lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Clear communication, reliability, good judgment, and respect for customers and community partners.

Preferred

• EV/hybrid, ASE, OSHA, electrical, automotive, or fleet-maintenance training.
• Experience with charging equipment, telematics, shared mobility, or roadside/service operations.
• Familiarity with inventory controls and vendor or warranty processes.

Compensation

$25–$34 per hour. This is the good-faith range EVGIDE expects to pay at hire. Final compensation will reflect role-relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and approved budget.
