Job summary

COR Disposal & Recycling in Portland, OR, is seeking an Entry Level Fleet Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles and equipment used in solid waste operations. The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to follow directions, and delivering timely repairs with limited supervision.

You will support Advanced Technicians, help maintain fleet reliability and safety, and use diagnostic tools to identify issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and electronic diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license.
• ASE certifications or equivalent preferred.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and diagnose complex issues to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and complete repairs with limited supervision.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet management software.
• Mentor Fleet Technician IIs and assist with fleet-wide projects.
• Ensure safety, DOT/OSHA compliance and accurate reporting.
