Job summary

The City of Reno Fire Department is planning the next academy and will establish an eligibility list from a continuous testing process. Applicants must pass NTN and meet minimum qualifications as described, with testing results merged per Civil Service rules.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age at appointment.
• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.

• CPAT certification must be current.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires and emergencies with team-based control and operations.
• Rescue, administer first aid, and provide life safety services.
• Perform fire prevention tasks, inspections, and education.
• Maintain duty readiness through drills and training.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and station facilities.
• Keep records and assist with map maintenance.
• Engage in public information tasks related to safety.
