Clark County Fire Department in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Firefighter I (Rookie School) recruit to begin the path to becoming a firefighter and to complete a paid recruit academy as part of the onboarding process.
Applicants must submit an online application to Human Resources and complete the PSA examination by 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026; note that a $50 examination fee applies.
The Clark County Fire Department is accepting applications for the Firefighter I (Rookie School) position. This position is the first step in becoming a Firefighter and involves successfully passing a paid recruit academy.
Individuals interested in this position must submit an on-line application to Human Resources, as well as complete the assessment at Public Safety Answers PSA no later than 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026. Candidates who do not complete both the application and examination process will be disqualified.
Note: There is a cost of $50 to complete the Public Safety Answers' examination process.

All employees must obtain an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or Paramedic by the end of their probationary period.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next twelve (12) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and successful completion of candidate assessment, physical agility test and interviews.
