Job summary
Electric Power Systems in Willowbrook, IL, is seeking an entry-level Field Technician I to assist in testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment in transmission and distribution substations. Under supervision, you will perform hands-on tasks, follow safety procedures, and help ensure reliable power systems.
You will support senior technicians, learn to read schematics and test plans, maintain tools, document work, and travel for job sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Pre-employment drug screen required and safety sensitive.
- Background check required.
- Ability to travel/out of town for periods.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Assist with inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment in substations.
- Perform basic testing under supervision.
- Adhere to PPE and safety policies.
- Record documentation of work performed.
- Support senior technicians and engineers.
- Maintain tools and clean work area.
- Assist with troubleshooting using schematics.
- Assist with circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switches checks.
- Follow procedures and test plans to ensure equipment readiness.
- Assist with functional checks and testing to verify readiness for service.
